Ikonix Academy of Performing Arts is a new performing arts academy based in Chesterfield.
We are passionate about inspiring, motivating and building confidence in a fun and safe environment.
Our teaching faculty are professionally trained performers. They have experience performing all over the world, both on land and on cruise ships. Many have toured the UK and Europe in numerous theatre shows and events and also performed on television with some of most credited performers and artists.
This enables us to bring the knowledge and experience learnt from working within the industry direct to Chesterfield. We truly believe this creates a great and unique learning platform for our students.
Abi opened Ikonix Academy in 2019 when she returned to her hometown of Chesterfield to teach and inspire the next generation of performers.
After spending the last decade performing and touring all over the world, Abi also found her love of teaching Dance and Performing Arts to both children and adults of all ages and abilities.
Abi started dancing at the age of 3, and started performing professionally at the young age of 17.
During this time, Abi also furthered her training by receiving a scholarship to attend SLP college where she graduated 3 years later with a Distinction and a Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre.
Since graduating, Abi has performed in numerous international events and tours as both a Dancer and Dance Captain. She travelled the entire world performing on board cruise ships and has also choreographed and assisted in professional shows which have been performed as far as Turkey and India.
Abis experience of the industry, teamed with her passion of Performing Arts and teaching, created the perfect combination to begin her new journey as the principal of Ikonix Academy.
Ami began dancing in Chesterfield at the age of three, growing up to perform in many shows, and successfully competing nationally.
At eighteen she moved to London to attend the prestigious ‘Italia Conti Academy of Performing Arts’ where Ami trained in Musical theatre.
Ami made her professional debut as part of Raymond Gubbay’s “Classical Spectacular” at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the ensemble dancers. She then went onto dance and sing on board Cruise ships and also touring both nationally and internationally with many companies.
In 2015 Ami moved to South East Asia, where she performed in many festivals, shows and events for The Prime Minister and Malaysian royalty.
Ami now performs as part of the vintage trio ‘The Bluebirds’. The trio are TVs Jane McDonald’s backing singers and dancers and perform along side Jane in her TV shows and national theatre and arena tours.
Ami is thrilled to be a part of Ikonix academy as Head of Musical Theatre.
